After years of innovation and rigorous testing, the HORUS star tracker is now in the hands of Airbus Defence and Space. Designed to withstand high mechanical loads and harsh environments—extreme temperatures, protons, and straylight—HORUS weighs just 1.6 kg, making it a game-changing solution for LEO to GEO missions requiring a high-performance, cost-effective attitude control solution.
What sets HORUS apart is its innovative design, which ensures seamless integration at the satellite bus level. Featuring a single-box architecture, a 24° Sun Exclusion Angle baffle, and an embedded software interface for the onboard computer (OBC), HORUS delivers exceptional pointing accuracy. This capability is crucial for enabling satellites to orient themselves precisely, optimizing mission performance across a wide range of applications.
As we celebrate this achievement, we would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to all our teams and to Airbus Defence and Space for their continued trust! We are now eager to see HORUS guide Airbus Defence and Space’s missions in the years to come…
