Once again, Sodern is proud to support Airbus Defence and Space in the production and deployment of the Eutelsat OneWeb satellite constellation.
Since 2019, Sodern has equipped the entire constellation with its star trackers, with 1,308 units already in orbit. The continuation of our collaboration with Airbus Defence and Space for a new batch of 340 satellites confirms our customer’s renewed trust in the reliability of Auriga™ and in Sodern’s ability to deliver large volumes in very short lead times, while maintaining uncompromising excellence.
The Eutelsat OneWeb low Earth orbit (LEO) satellite constellation provides high-speed, low-latency connectivity on a global scale. With more than 600 satellites distributed across 12 synchronized orbital planes at 1,200 km altitude, it brings high-speed internet access to every corner of the planet. The launch of these new satellites will ensure full operational continuity for constellation users, progressively replacing the early batches reaching the end of their operational life.
Auriga™ star tracker, designed and produced with selected and qualified components, is optimized for all LEO to GEO missions — from 6U satellites to small satellites under 500 kg. Auriga™ is available off-the-shelf and, like all Sodern star trackers, boasts a 100% mission success rate. A performance that reflects the operational excellence and commitment of our teams.
