For more than 60 years now, Sodern develops and manufactures neutron generators available to research
and industry. Neutron generators are renown for their reliability and cost-effective gestion.

Sodern's neutron generators combine high perfomances electronics with a neutron tube. Over 100 neutron tubes are produced each year, used in more than 40 countries around the world.

Applications of neutron technology

Reservoir monitoring for oil and gas

the neutron tube is used in various logging tools used to monitor oil extraction.

Bulk material analysis

material is carried on a conveyor belt which passes through a system equipped with a neutron tube. This type of system is used in cement plants, as well as coal, iron and nickel mines, etc.

Geochemical logging for mining

Used to measure boreholes to estimate resources before extraction and later provide grade control for material processing.

Nuclear waste reprocessing

Used to monitor correct reprocessing of nuclear waste.

Le Genie 35 est un générateur de neutrons autonome haut flux. Il est composé d’un module d’émission neutronique, d’une armoire de contrôle et d’alimentation, d’un refroidisseur et d’un logiciel de pilotage et de sécurité. L’opérateur pourra choisir son mode d’émission (continue ou pulsée). Selon le besoin, le module d’émission est équipé soit d’un tube TN36 D-T (14 Mev)° ou d'un D-D (2.5 MeV).

Song150 - Neutron emitting module

Song150 - Neutron emitting module

Song150 is a built-in neutron emitting module for pulsed neutron logging tool, consisting of one stainless steel housing with 14 MeV Sodilog sealed neutron tube, VHV power supply and a ion source pulser.

  • Lifetime of more than 1000 hours at nominal set point
  • Ruggedized design for 1’11/16 logging tool
  • Suitable for high-frequency pulsed emission (Sigma, C/O, ...)
  • Qualified for 150°C operation
